Ok I didn't think I would be making this post so soon. My 03 blaster I got today is acting up.

Problems:

in neutral while idling it sounds good. It idels good. When u rev it up it seems like the throttle gets stuck wide open.

Shift to first at normal idle and when u start to release the clutch it boggs down a bit then picks up.

Shift to 2nd and onwards it rapps it self out. U can shift and when u give it gas it revs really high as it's time to shift again.

Here is what I know about the bike.

1. They guy thought it would be smart to dump a qrt of 10w-30 in it.
2. The carb is fairly new and
3. has been bored to 240

I think it is a jetting issue but I wanted to get everyones opinion before I started tearing into it.

sounds like it might be lean in the main. double check to make sure there are no air leaks anywhere. also make sure that your slide isn't sticking, and that your cables are lubed and not sticking.

also i really doubt it was "bored" to a 240, that's impossible with a stock blaster sleeve. it would have to be a big bore kit, or have it resleeved. you probably just have a cylinder that's been bored .040 of an inch over

Like he said check for any air leaks and check your jetting those would be the most probable casues you can also take a look at your reeds while your at look for any chips or cracks and make sure they are sealed nice and tight to the reed cage

and just to see if it really is a 240 you can pull off the head of the motor and post the numbers on the top of the piston. If it is a 240 I recommend you get at least a 34mm carb. Hope this helps

Thanks guys. Much <3. I will for sure take the head off and see what the numbers are as I am very curious myself. I thought it might be a airleak or the jetting but didn't want to tear into it without some other opinions. I love this site and can't wait til winter to rebuild both of these.

Found the leak i believe. Havent had time to fix it, but took both out yesterday with a bunch of buddies with dirt bikes to do a little riding. She runs great once she gets warmed up. Where the exhaust meets the top end there is no gasket there is no spring and a gap big enough to put 2 quarters in. Going to look for a new exhaust system. Thank you guys so much for the help.
