i replaced not the clucth cover but on the other side of the engine that plastic thing the part that kinda guards the chian broke off and i was wondering when i took it off it had a seal around it with some kind of a rubber syilcone was it ok to scrap it off and resyilcone it then i bolted it back on with some locktight it should be water tight im guessing?

I assume you are talking about the stator cover.Just make sure it is sealed up nice with the silicone.Thats your flywheel and stator under there and you need to keep those as dry as possible.
