removing the choke

Don't troll 4poke forums much so I don't know what you are refering to. My ??? is why would you want to remove it? I can't think of anything with a carb that I have ever seen/worked on that didn't have a choke.

Its something I have seen on a 400ex because it uses a butterfly in the carb that is somewhat restrictivee. Not something we do with 2 stroke carbs. Our choke allows more fuel but not by restricting air.
I dont know why on a 400ex youd want to remove the choke... Those hondas are farkin cold blooded beasts. Girlfriends dad has a 300ex, aunt has a 300ex, brother has a 400ex, all of those things are cold blooded sumbitches. They NEED to be choked.
But no, our choke isnt a hinderance, it helps, so removing it is dumb, cause blasters NEED their chokes too.

Didn't know that about Hondos 
. I could see on an all out racer removing it could add maybe 1/2 a horse, but for everyone else they wouldn't miss it but would miss a choke.

When they remove the choke the add a richer pilot jet. The reason they are so hard to start is because they come with a small pilot from the factory for epa tests.
