reed spacer?

I am wondering what a reed spacer does? does it increase your power at all? right now i have boysen reeds. I blew up my engine and am going to be getting it bored .30 over and i am just wondering what a reed spacer is going to do for me if anything?

i used to have a almost stock blaster with a reed spacer and it gave me more power. now i have a blaster with mods in my sig and the reed spacer felt like it robbed me of power. i dont reccomend using them, but it comes down to personal pref. but use the search button at top of screen. there has been ALOT of discussion about these

mostly useful when a clutch arm hitting a bigger carb is an issue

im with freek, my engne guy jsut told me he likes to have the reeds in teh cylinder so if clutch arm clearance is a issue like it is with my 34mmpj to run it after the reeds so it would go ... cylinder, reeds, spacer, manifold and carb. instead of cylinder, spacer, reeds, manifold and carb.
