Reed Spacer Problem

Hey guys, just a heads up for anyone with a similar setup, I recently bought a reed spacer for my bike, and I put it on, with my aftermarket air boot fitting a 34mm keihin pj flat slide, and there isn't enough room in the frame to put that on, and then my k&n clamp on. I had to do a little fabricating to the frame to get this to fit. So just a heads up to anyone with a similar setup, or looking to do this.

Well the clamp on filter works really well, I'm a little more restricted as to how deep in mud or whatever i can go through, but for the most part it works great, i just put an outerwear on it and haven't had a problem with air restrictions, it makes it a little louder too. And I got the 1/2 inch. the part that got in the way was the crossmember on the frame, where the old air box boot hooked onto the frame, i had to grind it off, and then buff it out. but it looks pretty decent now

i used the "off the back" method, but i ride too much mud and water dirt, and i didn't have to grind anything off, all you had to do was use some exteded piping about an inch long. i ended with the aluminum airbox. it kicks ass!

yeah ill just clamp mine right to my carb, if i think its to exposed after i ride it a bit ill just take it off but its worth a try

if you do that you need to back it off about 4 inches with a piece of tubing. This will help the velocity out. Trust me i had a filter right off the back of my 34 pj and then moved it back 4 inches and works out great.

I mostly ride sand dunes, occasional trails, not enough trails and mud to effect it, i usually clean it after every ride anyway, i've got a little ocd :/
But does the 4 inch tubing make that much of a difference? or is that just to make it fit easier?

yeah thats what im wondering myself... and i figure ill start out with 2 sizes bigger main jet does that sound about right? now i have a 290 so with the filter ill start with a 310... ?

Air box??, I sawed the stocker out of the fenders to put in a real filter!, and I spaced it back with a piece of exhaust pipe and a chunk of old radiator hose!
