Im not sure if ive asked this before but i was wondering if i was to upgrade to bouseen reeds and a spacer should i rejet my carb?? i dont know whats in there now but all i know is that it is jetted.
Thanks

it all depends on if you have to re-jet. when people say the bike is "jetted" they mean the jets are set up to provide the right amount of fuel to make the right A/F ratio for the bike to run good with the modifications it has. worst come to worst you have have to get a new main jet. what does that cost? a $1.50 at your local moto shop? one thing people have to realize, if you gonna mess with the air, you have to mess with the fuel.

v3 reeds are a great investment dont waste ur time with a reed spacer.it changes the lenght of the intake . longer intake manifold equals more bottom end or maybe vise versa. u have a pipe, get some reeds, and port work and rejet to a 290-300 main next size up on the pilot maybe a 40? and clip on the
needle 1 under the center postition. just my opinion, makes decent power.

yeah i thaught about getting port work done but i cant seem to find any place around here to do it. and i was out bided on the auction so i might go with a spacer for now til i can afford v3 reeds. and just a question but what do you do Blaster biotch? lol you seem to know just as much as everyone here. just wondering

if i was you i would spend my 20-30 on some new reed petals. i dont think a spacer will do much. at least reeds will help you rev high. stock reeds are too flexable. that would be ur most bang for ur buck.

reeds dont give you more airflow into the motor. thus no jettign change is required at all. reeds make the throttle response more crisp and responsive. less lag from the time you push your thumb till the motor responds. and yes, stock reeds are a total peice of crap. anythign is better than stock in that department no matter what brand they are.

the spacer is junk unless you have a big carb on there and you actually need the clearance from your clutch cable.

reed up grade will also let ur engine rev higher because they reeds dont float, like valves in a 4 poke with out enough spring tension.

i was thinking of the boysen pwer reeds. does anyone know how good these are?? someone told me the fiberglass reeds are for better low end and carbon are for better mid to high. is this true?? cuz im looking to be able to climb big sand hills and well just bigg hills in general.lol
thanks lmk
