how do you know if your reeds are bad? and what will they make the quad do if they are bad? i was told i have no power after a rebuild becuase of my reeds?

i would pull your reed cage and see how the reeds look . if there is any broken or warped then it could case it to run like sh*t or not rev out stuff like that..
That is right you will have no power and if they break it will not start i replace the blades everytime mine gets rebuilt just so that way i know there good
yeah they are already off. the cage has the tinyest chink missing. like i mean small. it makes litterally a pin hole when the reads are on. the reeds themselves look fine, but i really dont know how to tell if they are warped.

there is a pin hole in top corner of the reeds also that i just noticed. supposed to be prefectly sealed isnt it? do the corners wear down in time?
last time i had it running it started easy and smooth bud had no power AT ALL. like literally toped out at 10mph. couldnt even get the RPM's high enough to get out of second. smoking extreamly bad too, smells like burnt rubber. i replaced the crank seals and all the other gaskets but nothing seems to be doing it.
well they sealed everywhere but the top corners and pin hole at the gouge in the cage. and it runs. when i put a new spark plug in it ran normal for literally 30 seconds. the plug looked fine tho. just a little bit of oil on it, and it still sparked and ran, but no power again. idk its been 3 -4 months since i rode its getting frustrating. and im jonesing to rip.
