Reed change...??

New owner of a 2003 Blaster. Runs great with the airbox lid off.
I've been told I need to change my reeds. Should I look to change anything else while I'm doing this?
If I use a reed other than stock, do I need to make any other changes/adjustments?
I'm not looking build this quad into a racer, I just want it run well for a long time.
Any ideas?

change main jet maybe i wouldnt think u would have to change reeds but new reeds would make it have better throttle response

iff your gonna spend over $50 for oem reeds you might as well geta new reed valve from g3 or vforce3 reeds or something like that

What is the differece between an OEM reed and an aftermarket upgrade? Would an upgraded reed require a jetting change or a filter change?

use a cr250 reed cage take little mods but wel worth it

you wouldneed to rejet but the throttle response and airflow increase is great

if your running with airbox lid off i would go up one size on the main jet do to the fact that ur letting more air in.

since u just want it to run for a long time you could just get some boyesen reeds for like $30 and install them and they will last and they are a fast and easy and cheap fix

agreed with most of the above... you USUALLY dont have to rejet with just a reed swap.. just an air screw adjustment.. i would be more concerned with rejetting (main jet only) when removing the airbox lid... especially since warmer weather is upon us.
