Red Ring of Death XBOX360.

Anyone got an XBOX360 that has (any) Red Rings of Death? Wanna get rid of it? Let me know, my buddy wants an xbox but doesn't have the money for a new one. I have a few tricks on fixing Red Ringed XBOX's. Buddy's looking to spend :

Did you screw around with anything on the Motherboard? How many lights of death? What year was it manufactured? How much you want if you do sell it?

what methods do you use to get them working? my friend has one that has went a few times. we were most successful with putting a penny under the x clamp then wrapping it in a towel and making it overheat itself to remelt the solder. worked twice now

It depends on the Error code that the XBOX reveals. Most of the error codes have something to do with the X-Clamps. Either the connection between the GPU/CPU is bad or it needs new thermal paste. So, I take the GPU/CPU's off, take the old thermal paste off with alcohal and cotton swabs, make sure the connections are clean, put new thermal paste on, put the GPU/CPU on without the X-Clamps and new screws with nylon washers, make them snug, re connect the disk drive and connect the Power and A/V cables. Then turn the console on, let it over heat for 20 minutes, shut it off and let it cool for 10 minutes... This makes a good, solid connection between the contact points and the GPU/CPU. I've done that method many times now and has worked everytime.
