So im rebuilding my top end for the first time and the entire skirt on the intake side is broken off... does this mean I have to split the case and remove all debris... and if so how hard is it to rebuild the bottom end...
You need to locate the missing piece and determine if you have any breaks in the case. If you do, you have no choice but to split the bottom end anyway to repair/replace.
However, the blaster engine is about as simple a motor as you can hope to have to rebuild and with a few special tools and a service manual, you can tackle the job yourself.
to work on the blaster motor properly you need about 4 speciallty tools that will cost between 50 and 200 bux total depending on your fabbing skills. lol you need a flywheel puller tool. 15bux case splitter about 60 or a modded steeringwheel puller or harmonic balancer puller can work. a crank puller/installer tool, and a clutch holder/flywheel holder tool really helps but is not a must. make sure to purchase a leakdown tester from slickerthanyou when you put it back together you will need that to make sure the motor is sealed properly. If you decide to tackle it that is
