OK, so Ive tried everything i can think of and Im at the world's end...

Heat, wd40, and hammering the sh*t out of the rear sprocket and its still stuck fast!

Any suggestions on how to remove it?

CUT IT!!!! no i was just jokin, but if you have to cut it and buy a new hub(or whatever its called), did u turn the little tabs down?? try a pneumatic tool, ummm idk whatelse

tabs?? i not trying to get the sprocket itself off, that would be easy. Im trying to get the assembly off the axle itself...this way I can rebuild the carrier and change my axle.

try some penetrating oil, and then tap on it equally

in other words, it has to soak it something, to break it free

You might try putting the quad on it's right side so the wd40 can get down into the spline. That side ends up getting a little corroded for some reason.
Then set it upright and put a jackstand or tire and rim under the carrier and using a 2x4 and a mallet hit the end of the axle a time or two and that should break it loose. I've heard some say it can be stuck pretty good.

thanks for all the advice...the carrier assembly is already off the bike, im trying to dissassemble it on my bench. as far as laying it on its side ive got it mounted in my vise and sprayed w/ wd40 already but thanks for the thought. ive decided that maybe im gonna invent a puller for stubborn sprocket assemblies tomorrow at the shop, this could be my ticket to paradise :) ok probably not but hey atleast it'll get the job done easy.
