Rear fender plastics in the way

I dont know if its just me or has anyone else had probs when kick starting a 03 blaster my foot gets hung up in the rear plastics and has pulled the fender off. I was wondering if there was anyway to fix that.

try putting your foot more towards the front of the kicker, i have to use my heel to start without hitting the fender
or you can stand next to the machine and kick it

I have tried that and I guess who owned before me already knocked the fender off and now it comes up further so I guess my only choice would be to get a new fender I was just hoping I could shave it down or something
