I've heard of and read about most of the stranger motorcycles that were produced years ago, but then I saw this project bike on the local Craigslist:
1975 Suzuki RE 5 (fresh barn find)
After doing some reading, I definately WOULDN'T want to own (let alone restore) one. Good luck finding new parts, and I bet even used spares are getting hard to locate. Five throttle cables, two oil pumps, and two oil tanks?! An exhaust that reaches almost 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit during normal operation?! A two barrel Mikuni carb? Ummmmm, not for me.
BUT Id love to get an up-close look at one. I thought only Norton put Wankel engines in motorcycles. Nope! Kudos to Suzuki for actually building some while Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha never got past the prototype stage!
