whats needed to run race gas? if its just higher compression i could have a head shaved for race fuel and one for regular? what other mods are needed and is the power really noticable? thanks guys

correct, for most people who have mods even s stroked Ported 240 will run pump gas...or maybe half race half pump....Pure race gas is for bikes built for doing nothing but racing....

higher octane means that the gas is more stable, and that it takes a higher temp. to ignite it. also when it burns it is a more controlled slower burn. A litre of race gas makes less BTUs than a litre of reg. gas. and higher compression makes higher temps. but race gas gives you no power increase, i mean technically you lose power i guess. but the higher compression that you use with it more than makes up for it
you dont need race gas if you mod the bike to the point where you get detonation or a ping then you can up the gas..

race gas will do nothing for you unless you set up for it.. more timing higher compression, less jetting, BUT it is a good thing to run it in extremely hot weather.. when i drag race cars if i know its gonna be hot that day i run prem and race gas mix just to control detination, it will do nothing for power unless you need it
So if I run 1/2 pump and 1/2 race gas it will actually help keep my motor cooler??? What octane race gas are we talkin if i mix with 93 pump gas?
you can mix 50/50 with av gas or race gas like sonoco or VP but if its not needed it will hurt your performance
exactly.. there is a place in oshkosh that sells 110 right at the pump!!! and a place in kaukauna also.. they stopped sellin it for the winter in oshkosh but last time i got some it was like just under 6 bucks a gallon which is not bad.. and it smells ooohhh sooo good
damn i run 4 gal 110 to 1 gal 93 and my 110 here cost 3.79.. guess im lucky right here at the nearest gas station
So what if i mixed like 2 or 3 galllons 93 to 1 gallon 110 instead of 1/2 and 1/2? I just love that smell

the just under 6 bucks a gallon was also when gas pricers were high 3 dollar range.. if your running one gallon to 4 gallons pre mixed with hp2 or techniplate your gonna be spending more time sniffing your two stroke smoke than riding lol

Thats what Im scared of. My buddy runs race gas in his 450r and it just makes me ride harder to get up on him to smell hos gas. LOL Kinda sounds wrong but you know what I mean. haha I run amsoil now I dont think that smells to much
never smelt klots.. i run pro honda hp2 in my blaster with 93 octane citgo no ethanol gas and it smells good and burns super clean.. i run the same 93 octane in the wifes trail boss with polaris pure blue semi synth and it smells sooo good.. almost smells like a mix of vp c16 and cotton candy
