I have a 03 Blaster with a stock carb and intake. I am looking to get a PJ 34mm Keihin upgrade and am not sure if I need to upgrade my intake manifold as well. Any suggestions?

You will have to mod it to fit. Your going from a 26mm carb to a 34mm...That is a huge difference. Also, why do you want to upgrade carbs? Do you have the mods and need a carb that can support it. If your running a stock bike then no reason to upgrade carbs...Will not do any good.

I have just completed my PJ upgrade.. i used a dremel on the intake boot.....

I have the mods to support it! .. it FLIES my quad now.. I used some ideas from user specialized to make a custom intake and fit the carb... I can strongly recommend it IF your quad support it!

as far as carbs go if your going to buy new larger keihin ..get a pwk ,not a pj ,pj carbs are way outdated and from the 80's

Well the entire engine is 1970 design so it fits perfect. . . . .

As a matter of a fact its a very popular 2 stroke racing carb.. I can only recommend it! .. specially if you want it in your stock boot and not use additional 100$ on that... BESIDES the PWK is NOT available is size 34mm if thats what u want.. that was what i wanted. I dont think it is possible to have a PWK on a stock boot.. That was my goal..

(I bought my PJ from brand new.. and there was a little sticker on it: MOTORCYCLE RACE USE ONLY!) .. I like that! hehe .. :-)

I dont think another carb is so hightech that its gonna do ANY difference.. the PJ has a flat oval slide chromed throttle "lever" .. soo smooth and nice to operate.. and insane response..

Like i said.. I can ONLY recommend it.

Your telling this to a guy who builds engines for a living and has probably forgot more about carbs than you will ever know....

PWK is a much better carb then the PJ...PJ is old and outdated but works well with modded blasters.
