Ok,, i have a new pwk 28 and i ordered jets for it and i got the jets and was going to start out with a 162 main and 45 pilot. Decided to take carb apart a few min ago and the dang main jet in the new carb seems like it is longer and intended not to be jetted. I looked at the parts breakdown and it calls for a needle jet holder and then the main in that. It seems like this carb the needle jet holder and main is one piece and theres no way to add my main jets to it. I hope i make sence but something is definately wrong. The pilot jet matched perfect and keihin says that these mains i bought are correct but it dont add up. Anyone with some input will help. Damn this rebuild can be frustrateing.lol

Does it look similiar to this one.The main should be the hex in the center and directly in front of it down inside should be the pilot. You need a small flat head screwdriver to get to it.The third brass post on the outside edge disregard.

Yes it looks similar, but thats not a pwk is it???? Yea i know which one is the main as well as the pilot. I hope this aint a pwk 28 you show because if it is mines a knockoff. The pilot was correct but the main aint matching up, not even close. Hell the main is 28mm long in this carb and the mains i bought are about 17mm, big diferance, The only thing i can think of is i dont have the main jet holder and mine is both the holder and main in 1 piece, if so i would have to find the holder to re-jet.

If this piece of chit 28mm pwk dont work out for me can i go to a 35mm pwk because i know i will go to a BB kit in due time? LIke run smaller jets untill i do a major BB kit??

That pic was of a keihin 30mm PE carb. The PE,PJ,PWK all run the same jets.I will get a lenght in mm on the size the jets should be.

I have a bad feeling i got a copy cat pwk, it looks good and seems like great quality but the main jet is way to long . On a keihin is the main jet screwed into another brass holder type thing that then screws into the carb itself.. I know the jets i bought are for a keihin but they are 17mm like they are supposed to be and the one in the carb now is 28mm.

In that pic it does look like the main is screwed into a brass main jet holder?????

That brass main jet holder is actuall imbeded into the carb. Not really a twp piece. When you unscrew it the jet is the only thing that should come out.How about some pics for me to better help you.

I need to work on my pic and posting skills. If that brass piece under the main is permanent then i am SOL, because this carb dont have that. It just has 1 very large/long 28mm main jet that i cant change the jet into. I believe i might of got a copy cat carb with no jetting capabilities. I knew right away this carb wasnt right when i tried to jet it. Its such good quality that i never figured it was a copy but i think i got duped on this one. i wish i could shoot a pic to you and soon i will figure this forums out so i can load a pic quickly, i am a cam spaz.

I have to change the needle in my 35pwk tomorrow after work.I will take some pics to better help you.

Not tonight, got to get up in a few hours for work but thanx for the help and link,, i will work on posting pics because i know its much better to assist. THX A BUnch, i appreciate all the help and pics to this point.. I am almost certain this carb i bought is a cheap copy but damn if you can tell from the outside. Damn chinese are getting tricky.

Thanx guys,, I decided to return the carb and replace it with a carb i know will fit all the jets i have on hand. That carb has to be some bs china copy but damn if it aint well built for a clone.
