I put my new WP Racing Suspension shocks on today, and while i am waiting for my new top end i went ahead got them on and got on my blaster and was trying to test them out and they make like a grinding sound somewhat and i was wondering if they need some suspension oil on them or what?

thanks for the help guys

were do i lube and put the suspension oil becuase they have rezivors and i dont know if it would need something special or just put them on under the spring orsomething like that i am new with these type of shocks lol

pull them off, and pull all the bushings out of the shock eyes, carefully, paying attention to where the pieces go, there could be worn out "igus" bushings, << thats what "works" calls them, they're plastic bushings that the inner metal bushings ride on, or they could just need cleaned and greased, but if they're worn out, like mine were, ya better get new ones, or you'll oblong the eye of the shock, and then be in for some $$ for works to repair them, i got some lower bushings from timsyfz on here, but works has them, i think they're like $32 for the top kit and $36 for the bottoms, and that includes all the parts,(metal bushings, igus bushings and o rings) to rebuild 2 tops or bottoms, im gonna be ordering tops soon, it's better than ruining a good shock after we paid the $$$ for them, if you dont see anything there, it could be internal, after you get them off, roll them on the floor to see if ya see any wobble, they could be bent??? worse case send them to works for a rebuild, it's like $40 per shock i think, sucks to have to do any of this, but ya never know with used stuff

i think one of the rubber bushings that are around the eye is broke but i dont think that little thing would do that but you would be suprised huh, that is almost the price i paid for these alright damn shocks now i cant get me either new front tires, reeds, or a rear shock oh well i will probally start this tonight and let you all know thanks awk for the input bro

i found some rubber hose at the hardware store that fit perfect for the tops, it'll work till i get new rebuild kit for them, the bottoms are a little trickier, the hose was too big for it, so i sliced the hose open, cut it to 3/4" wide, then put one wrap in there, with the ends meeting on the side, then another wrap inside that, with that ends on the other side, so the ends weren't at the top and bottom where the pressure will be, and the bolt fit right thru with a little grease, but you have to leave the metal bushings out, and fill the gap between the mounts with washers
this is all just till my bottoms come from reed and tim, and then i'll order new tops, but ya can make sumthin outta rubber to get ya by

ok i will probally do that and my ipod is going to be going to you when i go to the post office man, and finally i got a break on being bussy than this happens lol but i am justglad my grandma is doing better with her foot lol, but i will try to get it out sometime

you ride it this way? i could see maybe for storage while you wait for parts, or money. but i couldnt see riding it like that.....maybe im missing something.

most shocks have rubber bushings inside to begin with, so i just wrapped it in there till the bolt fit tight, rode it hard on sunday for like 7 hours, checked for play when i cleaned it up on monday, still tighter than a nuns *@&T, so yeah you are missing sumthin........

never heard of that being done before....glad to see you found a budget way to fix it.
