Well I took my quad out to my friends place to go riding and spent about an hour on the trails. My chain had fallen off a few times during the ride which had got annoying, we finally made it up to a gavel pit and my bike locked up and skidded to a stop. I was hoping my chain had fallen off again and got bound up, but unfortunately it was still on. I pushed my quad about a 1/2mile to get it home. Took the motor out, and decided I might be doing an engine overhaul. Now when i was riding there was no knocking or detonation of any sort. I did just put on a pipe and silencer but dont have it jetted right. Based on the pic of the oil that came out and the information that I have given you does anyone want to take a guess as to what went wrong?

It turns out the pressure plate and inner clutch basket self destructed. I think the other basket is salvageable but who knows. You can see in the pic the piston skirt isnt looking all that good, but its just that one side. Is it possible that when the clutch burst it tweaked the crank causing the skirt to scratch or, is that just wear from me not jetting?

Well the piston looks like it was running a little lean, time for a hone and new piston and the clutch looks nice.It deffinately grenaded on you for sure.Time for another stocker.

kinda old i think, but that just looks like cold seizing on the piston skirt. just let it warm up properly before you ride it or rev it hard.
