I recently bought a banshee axle for my blaster but when it arrived none of my blaster fitting would go on the axle, the guy said it came off a blaster but i don't know as i know there is alot of talk that a blaster and a banshee axle is a direct swap, when i put this axle next to my blaster axle there is a big difference in width, here is a pic of the 2 together

The axle never cost me alot of money but still upset

My blaster is a 2004 confirmed by Yamaha

Anyway reason for this thread is i seen another blaster axle on ebay and it looks more like my blaster axle but don't want to buy it unless i am certain it will fit, guy said its 102cm long(thought that sounds a little big) but it really looks as tho it will be a proper fit, it looks as tho its a extendable axle also, please have a look and tell me what yous think and if its worth bidding on

a banshee axle should directly swap into a 03+ carrier with no other mods needed.
but that rusty blaster axle laying there looks like a pre 03 model, and if that came off your bike ? you very well may have an 04 blaster/frame ect. but may have a pre 03 axle and carrier ?
does it have the 03+ hydro brakes or pre 03 cable brakes ??
if thats /\ the case, it is not a direct swap, you'll need the
03+ blaster/banshee brake disc/hub and sprocket/hub.
and i'm not sure the cable brakes directly swap to that carrier ???

can you post pics of your carrier/brake assembly ??

Hey Awk

Ye its defo a 2004 with the hydro brakes, it was only rusted because the quad was not looked after very well, if you look at the pic you can see a clear dif in width of axle, but if you look at the one on ebay its more like the blaster axle(rusted one) my question is not about the old axle its about the new one on ebay,

As for the first pic i think its not a banshee axle at all, i have seen a few now and none of them look like that axle it looks more like a YFZ450 axle to me.

Here is some pics of my parts

This is the back of the quad as i was stripping so you might be able to tell from that

I just need to know if the ebay axle is worth bidding on or am i going to get the same problem?

Im leaning towards thats not a banshee axle. I just did this exact swap last week and it fit just fine. You can tell the blaster axle you have is 03+ because it has the stop outside the brake hub splines.

Ye ave been racking my brains about this for weeks and everything is leaning toward a dif axle all together i have looked at both blaster axles and none of them look anything like the one in the pic

that axle you took out is definitely the 03 to 06 stock blaster axle. it has the stop to the outside of the brake rotor hub so that the rotor does not float. that axle above it is not a banshee axle. looking at the splines for the brake rotor hub and sprocket hub, you can see that the splines are not as long as the ones on the blaster axle. i did the banshee axle swap on my 06 and everything went together with no problems.

Ye i think its a yfz450 axle, oh well not to worry got my eye on another one! Did you have a look at the first ebay link? That looks more like it
