i just got a blaster with an fmf fatty pipe, pc silencer, .040 overbore, wiesco piston, ported and polished head, jetted rebuilt carb, and boyesen reeds, and all the good stuff. i can only feel the powerband in 1st and 2nd gears. do blasters generally not have much power???

i can feel the powerband, but i have really big tires so when i get going fast it kinda restricts the top speed. would it have anything to do with jetting? my friend bored it .040 over and didnt rejet, but it seems to be jetted pretty rich. (me and him are only 13)

o the tires arent that big .. u would half to pull the card and pull the main jet and see what the number is on the side of the jet ..

big rear tires give you HIGHER top speed, not restrict it. going with smaller rears lowers the top speed. like for me i conpensated with a 14 in the front then even better for the 240 kit, a 38 in the back for more top speed.

okay i will check the jet. what could be wrong? new ngk b8es, clean carb, idk what it could be??? it seems like my engine has more torque than high rpm horsepower, but that seems kinda weird due to it being a 2 smoke...

Actually, larger the larger you go on rear tires the less torque will effectively be transfered to the ground, thus causing the bike to feel more sluggish. But in this case he has stock sized rears so it shouldn't matter.
I'd say clan the filter, change the plug, clean the carb, and do a plug chop to see if your jetting is correct.

Dishwashing detergent should do the job. Just be sure to use foam filter oil..
