power coating

How much power gain do you get from a power coat? LOL just kidding. I got mine done at a local frame shop. I got a good deal cause I waited for a large order to go to the booth and I sent my frame in with his bigger order.

wat do they do to powder coat, and how is it different from painting besides the look of it, can you mkae it, do it yourself

where are you located at? i powdercoat out of my garage and feel im rather reasonable in terms of rates....

powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a dry powder. The main difference between liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat.It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.

Sure you can do it yourself and PC guns are rather cheap now a days.
There's a catch, you will need an oven big enough to fit all your parts and anything bigger then a normal oven is $$$$$$$.
This is the reason frames are almost always cheaper to get outsourced.
Other then the frame go for it. I've home PC'ed almost every item on my quad other then the frame.
Also I might add IMO a sandblaster should be purchased too if your gonna do your own stuff.
