well i think im ready to get brave here !!! i am fairly Mechanically inclined, all the work on my blaster has been done by me but i am not in the least bit Experienced in internal engine mods,
i wanna learn to port and polish, from what i have heard it is one of the biggest hp and performance gains i can do to my bike other than jets and pipe.
my question is: how hard is it, whats involved, can i learn this on my own, and does anyone have some good advice for me, or a good place to look for a good tutorial on this,
i would appreciate any, if any input on this...

ps, if anyone has any pics, that would be GREAT !!!

I would reccomend you let a profesional port your cylinder. You don't want to mess it up. It will cost you more in the long run.I hear flotekperformance.com does great work for cheap. You can gain a lot of hp with a good port job &milled head. It will be like a new bike.

ok, i decided i dont know even close to enough to go attempting this, lol...i found out theres a difference in just smothing out imperfections and a true port job, i havve contacted a local race shop in my area named Bristol Racing and im droping off my cylinder and engine today for a true port job, I have also contacted a local machine shopand i dropped off my head yesterday to have it milled, so im leaving to the pros to get me going !!!! ill post at the end of the week to let everyone know the results..
thanx everyone

chris960 that is a nice lookin blaster. nice colors! did u do it all yourself?

i agree thats a hot lookin blaster... neways daniel if ur truly wanting to learn.. hit up randelator.. he does his own polishing/porting

im going to attempt my intake based on his advice

how much are they chargin yal, cus i got a qoute for $350 to port and polish, so i thought about it, and i can go on ebay and buy the vito's 240 kit already ported and polished for $500, its alot but i think im gona go that way.

bristol racing in my area(syracuse area) is know fo rbeing onwe of the best around here, and i believe its 150 or so, i dropped my sh*t off and they said with a new high comp piston it would be under 200 or so

Thanks for the compliments on my bike it was my winter project i tore it all the way down to the frame sand blasted then repainted. Then i put back together added new cpi inframe pipe, force v-3's shockboots, gel grips, new tires all the way around, rejetted carb. Now it looks and runs like a totally different bike.It screams now!! I agree with flyers42091 you need to talk to flotek go to their web site look under services they have prices & pictures
like mx,dune aggresive trail $140 mill head $40 I hear they do great work.
