i want to polish my thumb throttle cover. what will i need to start it? types of grits, polishers, ect... thanks allI:I
 
i took some fine sand paper it mine then took a a car heavy duty rubbing compound with a buffer then an alumian polish!
thay have another thread abput this and some guy grinded the yamaha sign off and then polished it it looked cool he said he wanted it to look after market and it did!!! hope this helps!!

that was me!! lol but go to walmart over by the auto stuff theres sandpaper youll want about 400-200 grits and mothers aluminum polish and it will shine if you have a wire wheel it will save alot of time
 
yeah get yourself some wet sanpaper. like 1997blaster was sayin some 400grt wet if you want go to an automotive supply store that sells paints and try some 600grt and then end it with 2000grt wet. hit it with some mothers and you'll be happy.
 
I start at 320 grit then work my way up to 2000, it takes time, you may even have to do it a few times but its so worth it. I really don't wet sand too much, if its a ruff cast part like a case cover ect. it helps ALOT. Mothers mag and aluminum FTW! Best stuff ever!
