Pod air filter and custom air intake ?

Hello there I'm kinda new the forum , I need help with my 30mm keihin carb. I tryed to mod the air filter tube that goes to the back of the carb to fit onto the 30mm carb but I messed it up . So I was thinking of using PVC pipe and making my own intake . Have the PVC pipe connected onto the back of the carb and have it coming up to where the stock air box is .. And run a uni pod filter or something ? Any better ideas. Any help is needed . I also run my blaster In all conditions .

this same idea...a velocity tube with pod filter has been done before and seems to work OK, i'd like to see it supported at the back to reduce stress at the carb coupling and possibly falling off during any hard rides ???
and get an outerwears prefilter to protect it from taking in water

sorry, that was quite early in the morn to be thinking straight, i meant velocity TUBE, and edited all previous posts to avoid confusion

What do you mean by velocity tube ?

thats just what I and a few others call them pvc tubes, as it gives the air time to "straighten out" and gain velocity ???

here's some reading and pics.............

Why are you changing carbs? Whats wrong with running the stock carb, air boot assembly and air filter? They work PERFECTLY and fit PERFECTLY. A much better set up than most people think.

2 stroke Guru Gordon Jennings recommends for greatest performance the the air filter be fitted directly to the carby throat.

The filter must be of the foam variety as fuel blow back will destroy a paper type.

I run a foam filter on the throat with great success and need not worry about supporting it.

Not recommended if you take the bike swimming.

Well when I bought the blaster it needed . A new carb or a carb rebuild so my older brother gave me a Kehin one for free!. A 100$ carb for free so I put it on my blaster .. But then intake was way to small . So Im just goona mod the intake since I ride in snow, rain, mudd, ect lol
