Ok its a 02 yfs 200. Curently not running at peak performance, its stock other than boyseen dual stage reeds tusk clutch. New standard bore top end kit including gaskets and new air filter its not a spongy foam style its hard with the metal mesh. It wont run or idle with airbox lid on. Stock carb and jets. sproket oil seal is blown leaking small amount of oil when warm and if warm u can hear what sounds like air (pssst) coming out of the seal when u kick start it , im replacing the seal in a couple days ordered the seal with bigger jets , my problem is its smoking and seeems to rich to me no power in starting from a stop revs fine when clutch is in , im at 230 main 32.5 pilot, I ordered a 240 and a 35 I think. Gonna have to check. Cant figure out if this old ragged pipe which I know is coated in spooge its smoking or if my engine is running to rich. ? Im on a tight budget and I really am aggravated at this toy. Ive invested 250$ on top end 50$ on clutch and 45 on reeds so im gonna have to cut my losses soon if I cant get it right tors is working properly so is oil injection , but thinking about switching to premix because of war stories ive heard about the injection please help I havent tried switching the needle clip .

There could be a few things wrong. Answer some of these questions, and I'll try to help ya.
1. Is it smoking really bad? Stink like tranny oil burning?
2.What kind of pipe is it?
3.What was wrong with the old top end?
4.Air filter Clean?
5.New Plug?
6. Did you do a leakdown test after you rebuilt it?
7. If your oil injection pump is still hooked up, did you make sure its bleed out and no dirt or gunk is stopping it going into the carb?

I doubt you'll need to change that pilot jet, my experience with it, and from everything I've read on here, the 32.5 works about the best, and the needle is best left in the middle position for most pipes.

32.5 pilot is just fine as is the clip in the middle slot.

Excessive smoke can be from incorrect float level, flooding due to dirt in the needle and seat, wrong oil or leaky crankshaft seals.

If the header pipe is not sealed it will ooze sponge which in turn will burn and smoke.

If the oil injection is working, forget the idea of switching to pre mix, the injection system is perfectly reliable if treated correctly.

If it will not run with the air box lid on then I would suspect a flooding problem!

Excess smoke
Sound of air escaping

These symtoms scream air leak. Highly suggest leakdown test. As bummer981 mentioned, rt seal, so might as well do both. Was this tested after new top end? Was head and jug re-torqued after heat cycles?

This is a hard one, conflicting symptoms, runs rich with an air leak!

Leak test, and fix what is wrong.

Clean and adjust carby and idle.

Check exhaust port and pipe for carbon buildup.

What oil are you using?
