I know I've already posted this topic but I really need help with my clutch problem. Sometimes when it's in 1st and I pull in the clutch and kick it over it will jump like the clutch isn't pulled in. And when it starts in nuetral and I click it into 1st it will jump and sometimes stall right out. Does the clutch simply need adjusted or do I need some new parts for the clutch? Also the guy before me ran a low grade automotive oil with friction modifiers in it. What could that have done? And I'm running 10w-30 and it's about 5F up here. Should I switch to 10w-40?

atf type "f" or a factory gearbox lube for 2 strokes only
and is this doing this all the time or only when cold ????
it needs warmed up completely for the clutch to operate fully, and i thought we decided in the other thread you needed a new clutch cable before anything else was done
a different 10w whatever oil isnt gonna fix your problem
have you done anything to try and remedy this since the last thread, or just on here askin again if 10w sumthin is the miracle answer ?????

new clutch cable and proper gear lube before we answer this all again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS NORMAL on a worn clutch

its called clutch lock up, and means your clutch basket fingers are notched and or the judder spring is worn out.

to reduce this problem start the bike in neutral, as it is warming up, hold the clutch in and rap the throttle a few times. This will usually free up the plates and reduce the bike CLUNK into first gear. OR Start the bike in gear with the clutch pulled in, the first kick the bike may jump a bit but thats about it. After that it will be fine.

to solve the problem completly you need to remove the clutch basket, and file or machine the grooves out of the clutch basket fingers. I highly recommend everyone remove the judder spring completely and replace the small friction plate with a standard one like all the rest.

For GAWDS sake start running a better oil. you can basically eliminate the clutch basket wear with a better synthetic oil. Amsoil, Redline, Motul, Royal purple Mobil 1 etc. go with a JASO MA approved motorcycle engine oil or even better is 75w-90 gear oil like the Amsoil severe gear 75w-90

oh I should note that it wont hurt anything.
however you clutch will start to wear much faster and slip. when it comes time to replace the clutch... fix the basket fingers
