Please help me

Hello I am only 14 so please excuse my childish language. I was riding my 99 blaster when all of a sudden when I went to start it my small sprocket began to twitch. Almost like changing a gear but then going back to nuetrel. That happened when I tried to shift to first gear. But then when I shut it off it was like I broke the spring on the kickstart. It had no feeling but it would shoot up. I fell scared to pull start it because I don't know if there is metal shavings in the transmission. I am by myself so I'd like to find out what the problem is. Thanks for helping.

I really hate twitching sprockets,

I've had the spring break.
Maybe someone can give you a link to the online manual. Make sure your chain is tightened correctly !!
