piston slap? :( i hope not...

No problem bro. Here to help the blasty bros 24/7. I mean I know the rest of ya'll would do the same for me. Hell this has to be the only forum where i offer to give parts away to people in need, and they say "oh sorry, so-and-so already gave me the part(s) I needed, but thanks".

man i really appreciate it and rep given for offering but you guys don't have to do that... just because i'm in a tight spot doesn't mean i want your help. it might take a while but i'll get testers and get my blaster rebuilt, i just don't know when.

i remember when i was stuck for money (most of the time lol) guys on here were willing to help me out so im going to do the same .... so whos gonna help me get casey a tester ???

man you really don't need to do that... if you guys give me money then i'll feel like i constantly owe every single one of you. i hate to have to accept help like this, i don't even like having to get help working on something.

im the same i never accepted the money just sold some of my xbox games lol if i sell my bike tomorrow(theres a guy coming to look at it ) ill through in 20bux anyone else one or 2 other guys and we'l heve ya a tester

well guys i took my blaster apart today (not the top end just the body parts and fuel stuff). i checked my reeds and they are worn out (they stick open a little and i'm fairly sure they should lay flush), i jetted my carb back to 290 since it ran best at that, and cleaned out the air boot from the carb to the airbox. i also checked my compression, i am running at 125psi of compression at the moment (yes i bought a compression tester, i spent my gas money on it lol)

also, i want vforce 3's but don't have the cash at the moment but i can afford boyesen petals... which ones are the best ones you can get? i'm pretty sure i remember seeing that some boyesen's were carbon fiber on here once before but i just want what is best but cheaper than vforce3's. are vito's carbon fiber reeds better than the boyesen's?

I have no experience with any aftermaarket reeds, but i have heard many great things about the boyseen carbon fiber series. Nobody thats gotten them has complained. Most say they notice a snappier throttle after the change. Not too bad of a price either. IMO they are a no question buy for someone on a budget.

yeah i've heard tons of great things about the boyesen carbon fiber ones... those are the ones i'm going to get, i looked them up and they're called boyesen super stock reeds, about 35 dollars plus shipping so i figure that's a great deal compared to vf3's. plus i've also heard that the boyesens and vf3's ran back to back didn't show much if any difference. also if i can scrape together the cash i'm going to get a k&n outerwears to go over my k&n filter because where i ride it is very dusty and my filter is just coated with dust so i'm going to clean it then install the outerwears. is there a special way to clean a k&n because i have no idea how to go about cleaning it. most filters are soft/foam so i just pour gas in a little bucket, put in the filter, and squeeze/work it until it is clean.

i got a kn filter cleaning kit. you just spray the cleaner on it and let it sit for a lil bit and then rinse it out from the inside. then let it dry and oil it. works great for me. if i was riding in dusty area i would use a uni filter though..

well guys i installed the boyesen super stock carbon fiber reeds today... the blaster revved faster and snappier but it still has the low idling problem. i've never touched the idling so nothing has changed in the carb other than me trying switching jets to fix it but now it's back to a 290 main. i am clueless on this! and i noticed that it tries to idle normal but then it sort of sounds like something might be rubbing when the idling drops. would this be a symptom of a flywheel key about to give?

The K&N cleaning kit is the best way to clean a K&N filter, thats what i use works great. As far as foam filters use No Toil filter cleaner that stuff is awesome, just dump a little in a bucket of water and scrub with your hands......your hands will never be cleaner lol. On your idling problem have u messed with the throttle cable any? If its not ran a certain way that will change the idol a little

no i haven't messed with the throttle cable any... and i just made a new thread to get rid of this cluttered up thread. check it out and i'll have a new idling vid up on it in a minute with the boyesen CF reeds.
