Piston ring alignment?

On the back of the piston (intake side) there are two small pins down inside the ring grooves. One above one intake window and one above the other.

The rings are cut on the "inside" half moon shaped. The half moon cutouts go over the pins as the cylinder slides down.

The stock pins are easier to see if you're not sure what you're looking for. They are flush with the outside of the piston but only sit in half of the ring groove. The rings are "half mooned" on the bottom to sit OVER the pin.

Wiseco does it a little different and the pins are harder to see...but the design works well.
