Friggen guy that was supposed to fix my stripped stud put f*cking JB weld all over the exhaust flange , bolt and pretty much all around where the exhaust bolts up to the motor.

I almost hit him I seriously lost it. His excuse was I asked him to fix the stud so it would be air tight "well now it's air tight so why you bitching" but it's not because the bottom side there is still a gap cause the God damn bolt is stripped and can't be tightened.

Pretty much what he did is full the gaps with so called high temp JB weld. My question is can I get this off without it ruining my jug? Or am I screwed. If I'm screwed I'm just gonna fill the rest of the gaps with rtv or something and ride it till it blows and start over again. Just sucks I have almost 3000 into this and this on a hole jacks it up.

Man that sux ! I feel for ya. Good thing is Jb weld can be filled down. Can you post pics of the hack job?

In one of your other threads, you mentioned that your fix on the exhaust stud "didn't work". You only get 1 chance at a heli-coil. If you screw it up drilling or tapping the hole, you have a mess and more drastic measures are needed for a successful repair. Luckily for you, there's a lot of aluminum in the area you're working on. So, after you screwed it up, you put the motor back in the frame and took it to a butcher. Why are you screwing around when you're just down the road from Ken? Take the motor out, take it to him and pay him to fix your screwed up mess. It's possible he might be able to put a CR500 head stud in it.

Didn't want to bother Ken with a stripped screw he's very busy (I've been in his shop) the guy I brought it to has done exactly what I asked him to do before for me and did a good job. If I knew he was going to butcher it I obviously wouldn't of brought it to him I'm not retarded. He didn't put any stud in it its the original one just slapped JB weld alllll over it. And no it didn't work the stud still just spun on the inside, did I not do it right ? Probably but I didn't ask for JB weld either.

I'm sure since you paid Ken to build a motor for you, he'll be more than happy to take a little bit of time to fix your stripped threads. If you hand him just the motor, it shouldn't take him long at all to make a successful repair.

You're right he would I never doubted that the way I looked at it is this guy has done it in the past and is 3 mins down the street compared to ken being 40 mins. Which isn't easy with a new born. Dwelling on it isn't gonna change it I actually look at it as positive. I will ride it till it blows and buy the big bore kit from Ken. Although the revs are no longer hanging so I guess the bastard did get it air tight so it might not blow up as quick as I would like.

ANYWAYS....... Here is the best repair BF has ever seen. Drumroll pleaseeeee

Hell no he wanted me to pay and said he was going to call the police if I didn't. I told him go ahead they will arrest you for f*cking my sh*t up. Except a lil more violent

Just tap it with a lil hammer and it should chip off. I bet he just gobbed it on. Epoxy has a hard time adhering to anything without some sort of texture. I bet he didn't sand or give it any type texture so it might just chip right off. If not than you can file it away and or use a dremel/or alike and grind it off.. Either way I am 99% sure you can get that snot rocket off your cyl.

/\ LOL @ snot rocket

No laughing matter is that mess that jackwagon caused you Pud !

for the record, one of my exhaust studs stripped, I've rebuilt it 3 times and experimented with 5 different pipes, so it's got more than it's share of abuse.
I found the next size standard bolt with a self tapping taper and groove to it, ran it in/out 3-4 times then a final tightening and it's been holding since.
the better and correct way is to re-tap it to the next size american bolt, then install the bolt.
having bolts instead of those studs sticking out actually makes it easier to get the right bend pipes in/out.

It holds 7 psi for at least 15 mins. Well it did when I leak tested it a few weeks ago. Tomorrow I'm gonna try and chip the crap off and put a self tapping bolt in.
