picked up my new blaster!!

Sounds like you could have an air leak or the slide could be sticking open, to realise the carb when it's stuck I would use a set of channel locks to twist it. Make sure u do not squeeze tight or you will break the cap they are very brittle

You should have enough room when u take the carb off the bike if your really stuck take the throttle cable of up at the handle bars

PM Awk08!

Every one who owns a 2 stroke should have a leak tester in the tool box.

2 stroke motors should be tested at least twice a season to help avoid any nasty surprises.:o:o:o

As stated above. There is also a diy thread on making your own leak tester.. Cost and time wise and availability of parts, its sometimes easier to just buy one made already. Also considering you just got the quad, a leak test is a must..

Now that i see your waaay across the pond. Check out the diy thread on making a leak tester.

ill check my uncle as hes a mechanic, i managed to get the carb off tonight and the mainjet size is 230 this is stock isnt it ?, and it has a dmc alien pipe, and the airbox is off, i guess i should me up along the lines of a 260-270 main jet is it?, so it wasnt jetted correctly for a start and the carburetor itself is in a bogging state, i think the thing was never took apart from new

No wonder it boggs.

#290 main or bigger, needle clip on bottom slot.

Just noticed you pre-mix, #300 main.

It may pay to remove the DMC header and get a look up the exhaust port for signs of piston damage, also on the reed side to see if the piston skirt is cracking.

gonna order the 300 main tonight and take the cylinder off now soon to see what im dealing with here, when the guy took the oil injection off he covered the hole with jb weld but it seems like there's holes everywhere on it so i think its sucking in air there. gonna grind it off and fill it properly, can never buy a quad that needs nothing done to it.

only one hole needs blocked off for the oil injection delete.
it is located on the kicker side, high up towards the back of the carb, it will be a brass nipple.
the only other 2 open nipples into the carb are vents, one on each side, midway up, they should have light brownish colored hoses going down to just below the float bowl and held on with little tabs under 2 of the float bowl screws.
do not block them off
