performance cdi box

are there any advantages of me installing a perfirmance cdi box and if so what brand do you recomend?

I know a couple guys are running Hot shots CDI. I bought one too but haven't used it yet. Suppose to be better than stock , Higher redline limit, smoother throttle, but don't know yet.

I think member awk had a hot shots and went back to stock. But ask him for sure....

Unless they changed something which is highly doubtfull.. it may have been a little hotter spark (which really would do nothing) but they did not change the advance or curve one bit.

what mods will give me the most performance gain for the dollar? besides a big bore kit.

Pipe, v3s, bigger carb, advance the timing, sprockets and ect. ect.

pipe, uni air filter, even just taking the airbox lid off and going up a jet size or so will be a good upgrade, and jets are cheap

the cdi box will override your rev limiter. but ive heard if you over rev your bike once you install the cdi box then you can blow your top end real easy. but i dont know for sure

just do a little math, as long as you keep piston speed avg below 4000 fpm. Remember, you can raise the revlimiter to 20,000 rpm, doesnt mean a thing unless your pipe, porting and carb will support it.
