This carb came off my cr 80 junker i had laying around. Anyone used one of these? So far my 50 pilot seems spot on starts super easy but i started with a 145 main and it had no power too much fuel entirely. Now it has a 132 main and the midrange hits decent but falls off on top. The 132 is the stock cr jet. Mods include 3 mil stroker, 68mm piston, ct pipe and silencer, pod filter, boyesen dual stage reeds. Any input will help thanks!

I haven't run a PE carb before, but I ran a similar PWK on my Blaster. Most people don't use the PE carbs simply because they prefer the better throttle response and design of the PWK and PJ carbs. However, a Keihin PE is still a good upgrade over stock.

The 50 pilot is about right. That's what I ran in my 28 PWK.

The 132 main is obviously too lean. Try a 140 main jet and tune from there. I'm a little surprised the 145 is too rich for you; I ran a pod filter and had a 148 main on an otherwise stock engine with a Toomey pipe. Are you sure it is getting too MUCH fuel with the 145 main? Try it again and see what happens. If the engine is still choking out after riding it for a couple minutes (it has to be run for a couple minutes before it will 'clean out' and run well), drop down one size at a time on the main until it runs the way you want. Then do a plug chop and see how things are looking. Cardboard brown is good...

Yeah i even jumped to a 148 main next and it ran even worse. i was suprised to that it ran like it did. Im gonna step down to the stock cr 80 size. hp ratings are pretty close to the same stock. If i cant get this thing to run on it im gonna swap for something else. just seems im going the wrong way with the jetting

That's very possible, going the wrong way...the PE carb will flow less air than a same-size PWK.

Try a 135 or 138 main, then, and you'll get it close. I'm willing to bet that the 138 or maybe a 140 will be spot on. Don't run the 132 if it bogs out on top; it is too lean and you will fry a top end.

well with more test and tuning still need to go smaller. think im gonna get a oko next week so i dont wrap up a ton of jets in something im noit gonna use
