whats a good paint to use to do a frame/arms/swinger? they will all be sandblasted so it will be clean, can someone give me tips on this like what primer to use/type of paint?

A friend of mine paints cars and when I painted the frame I got him to spray it with the same paint and primer they spray cars with it held up very well for paint, sorry I don't know exaclty what it is.

go to your local auto parts store, get duplicolor primer... if your frame and stuff are gonna be a bright color get a white or grey primer, if dark color get a black primer ( the primer will effect the color lighter primer wil lgive a brighter color and black will make them darker)

than get duplicolor acrilic enamal paint ( it says right on it acrilic or laquer) the acrilic is a thicker paint and holds up better to wear and tear and lays down better.

than get the duplicolor acrilic enamal engine clear coat, and follow the direstions on the can.. 2 light coats than one medimum coat... this will give you a great looking nice shiney finish and will hold up to gas and oil...

the dumplicolor stuff is by far the best rattle can paint out there!!!!

or if you can find the color you want in there wheel paint or engine paint go for it.. themn will hold up even better

well im a do it yourself kinda guy 2, but something just cant be done myself. the place i buy my powder from is going to do my frame for $200.00. also there are powder coaters closer than 3000 miles away from you.

you would be surprized. i bet there are more places by you in ak that poweder coat than you think... just about anywhere that makes bed frames, hospital beds, food service carts, and so on will have in house powder coating... there is a few places locally that do it around me.. basic american metal, south side tires ( powder coat semi rims), i think good year does it.. and i gotta friend with a small set up.. he can do pretty much anything he can fit into the stove in his apartment lol

ha i hope your buddy doesnt eat outta that same stove. that is toxic. but 4cfed is right, alot more places powder. just because they dont say that they doesnt mean they dont. the place that i biu my powder from is a trailer building place called Best trailer. They have it to PC the trailers they build, but they also PC for the public.

Alot of custom metal fabrication places do it as well.

LOL .. no he picked up a old electric stove for the garage..

exactly.. if they to any kinda metal fab/ or mainly welding places they prob have a pwdrcoater, of can get you in touch with somewhere that does

I use the industrial enamel sold at TSC to paint truck frames at work so that is what I used on my frame. It's good paint made by valspar. It takes a day or two to really dry but it drys hard and glossy. Lots of hardner in it. They offer alot of colors too. If you can afford it get some self etching primmer.

yeah theres a pc shop lioke 2 miles from my blastys garage i thin k im gonna call them n get a price but im poor right now ..lol
