Is there any damage caused by having the trans overfilled? Just gave the blaster a hard ride before changing the trans oil, after about 10 mins of ripping on her the clutch actually started to work. Pulled her into the garage and noticed my whole left leg was covered in oil, I drained 1+ quart of oil out of her. Just wondering if it hurt anything having that much oil in her.

Guess I will try her out tomorrow with the proper amount of oil in the trans and see how she does. Picked the blaster up cheap from a guy who said the clutch needed adjusted due to not disengaging, witch was probably due to the excess oil in the trans. As far as I can tell the oil came out of a tube that looked like an overflow?

Can blow a crank seal if there is to much. Yea that tube is the over flow. When putting oil in, there is window under the kick starter. There are two lines and you want it in the middle of them. Hope that helps.

good post but don't forget you need a good gear oil for a wet clutch.

Thanks for the tips. Got her filled to the proper level with some Honda HP 80/85wt trans oil, couldn't make it to the Yamaha dealer its a 200 mile round trip. Will see how she does in the morning.

I just did the same thing by accident.I am pretty sure it just goes out the overflow tube/
