I'm running into the same problem. I don't have a lot of cash to spend right now so I am trying to be smart with my money. I started by doing the thing I could to make it look better w/o spending an arm and a leg.
1. I pulled all my plastics, preped the thouroghly and painted them. I think I will have $30 in them once completed.
2. I searched high and low to find the right mesh to replace the factory plastic mesh in the hood.
In the mean time I am saving a little here and a little there. Shortly after the first of the year I am going to have a bout $250 to "invest" in engine mods. I posted a thread in the correct section asking advice and what I got was a port job suggestion. I will probablly do that. I went to the links found here for some of the builders and got some average prices. After I am sure I got my money right I am going to contact wildcard (Brandon gave me a great deal on a few other items when I mentioned what I was diong) and see what he recommends!
These are my suggestions..... If you don't like them I would suggest trying to trade back for your 125! LMFAO....... Seriously, just messing with you! Don't get upset, I like your bike.... Even if I didn't, it wouldn't matter cause its yours, not mine!!!!
Have fun with it, take your time and do it how you want! There are a lot of free or inexpensive things you can do depending on your goals. Search the forums and read what others have suggested. You would be amazed what a little hard work and thirftiness can get ya!
Enjoy!
