You want to properly remove the system/pump with a correct block off kit, removing oil pump, pull the tank/lines, etc, to do it right. Yes, point is simply that, to delete the oil injection system, creating a better more streamlined, managed mixture ratio and avoiding the system to fail hence burning up your motor. It is highly recommended and creates much better overall reliability for your bike.
Have at it the correct way, for sure...
but wont an empty oil tank just pump no oil. and mix ur gas. whats wrong with that. the pump will just pump nothing loll
The actual block off part is just to keep the oil in the case when you remove the physical pump. Removing the pump really isn't that important. What is important is to rip off the hoses going to your carb and block them off properly, nice and air tight. If you get an air leak in there, the motor can blow up!! Other than that, you really don't even need to remove the pump if you don't want to.
pump could dry up from not having any oil running threw it and could come apart on you. all i did for mine was take the drive gear off the pump and put it back on that why the pump wasn't turning anymore
if you leave the tank and pump on and the tank runs dry even with mixed gas the tank will suck air causing a lean condition and kabang
