just tore the blaster down and painted it. put it back together put new 310 jet and new needle in. now it wont start. it just backfires every 5 or 6 kicks?

clean where the grounds connect ????, and get the wires reconnected correct comin outta the stator ??????,
i almost crossed the white and yellow ones on saturday while rebuildin the boys

the frame of the coil needs a good bare metal ground where it bolts on, clean the paint off the frame at those places

if you have to check, you didnt do it !!!!!!
clean all the pretty new paint off the frame where the coil bolts on, thats where the ignition ground is, and must be good connection before it will start,
and at the voltage regulator under the hood and it's ground for lighting

yeah they were mixed up. haha i feel like a dumbass. but still it wont start keeps backfiring.

no dumbass here, how do you think we know this stuff, we did it all once or twice ourselves,
replace with a new plug, prolly fouled without starting before
then check for clean grounds
and if thats not it, clean the carb good

i took the plug out and put it in the cap and kicked it over to check for spark and its all messed up. its like making one spark with every kick.. usually it lights up every time the engine turns over. i think the timing is f'd up

there is no timing, only the woodruff key keeping the stator in time, if you didnt fool with that it should still be good,

did you check for bare metal grounds at the coil ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

i didnt remove the coil i just touched up my paint job with a can of metal paint. so it should be a problem but ill check it

i see, but definately sounds electrical, check them wires again, unplug and replug them, maybe clear a bad connection, and change the plug, its possibly fouled and firing internally sometimes, thats why you could only be seeing spark sometimes

when i was taking the carb off. the TORS wires broke off. could that be it? they could be shorting out on the frame ill check that brb

What I did to all my ground points was clean them to bare metal and add delalectric grease. For those that don't know what it is. It's a grease that's real good at transferring electricity to put it in simple terms.

Bam fixed it. fired right up(: thanks guys. idk what happened i just unplugged everything and plugged it back in. and taped the tors wires. oh and awk it sounds alot better now that i bumped it up to a 310 main
