I need help my blaster is not hitting powerband what's the problem?

whats your mods....pipe, air filter/box, carb, ect. ?
and jetting ?

Did things all of a sudden change ? Have you changed anything and then this happened or just out of the blue you lost power ?

I don't have any mods except for it being bored to 68.25. Could it be that I'm running it too rich?

Possibly....... As stated previously, what is your jetting at now and did this all of a sudden happen or did you change something and and now this ?

The more details you provide us, the quicker and more acurate we can help you.

My jetting is stock. I put a new carb on and now when I drive it doesn't hit bowerband.

so what is the jetting in the new carb ?

float height ?
pilot jet # ?
aircrew setting ?
needle clip position ?
main jet # ?

Ahhh,, there we go...... Like said above, what carb (size, brand) and what is the jetting in that carb ? You are most likely either jetted rich or extremely lean..

Also i see you said no mods but most folks dont consider taking an airbox lid off as a mod but yet it is.. Stock air box, stock lid and a good clean filter ? Good new plug? /good fresh gas?

What was the reasoning for changing the carb?

If you did go to a stock Blaster carb, you will need to confirm the jetting as AWK said. Then you will also want to make sure that the carb is clean,,, Main jet, Pilot jet, //float isnt sticking /or leaking, vent tubes are clear etc...

IIRC, I think he is running the carb I sent, the threads on top his carb had stripped. He would be running his (stock) slide, needle and pilot, as well as stock p-6 needle jet. I think i sent it with a properly adjusted float (could be off after shipping) and a 290 or 310 main jet which of course is way to big for a stock blaster but the smallest I had, since the stock jet met with numbered drill bits.

OP should still have the stock jets and already installed his pilot jet in the carb body I sent.
need to put the stock main jet out of your old carb into the one I sent.

Yup. I'm running that carb I put the main jet from my other one in there. Airbox lid is on, I have a clean air filter. The main jet is a 220 if I'm correct. My air screw is one turn out.

230 main jet is stock.
you need to know whats in there, not guess.

is it correct for your mods, temps and altitude ?
plug chop main jet: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-plug-chop.53237/

but these have to be correct first, before main jetting.......
float height ?
http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/float-heights-and-how-to-adjust-them.50565/

tune airscrew: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/adjusting-your-airscrew-pilot-jet.51060/

needle clip position ?
should be middle slot.

we can't tell you what jetting to run, or if your partial answers are correct.
you have to use the tuning info posted to get it correct.

It should hit anyway but might not hurt to check the throttle cable. the float height is pretty important as well.
Make sure your sealed good especially at the boot, and top of the carb., check to make sure fuel is flowing to the bowl well, and that you don't have a carb vent or vent hose plugged

I would be curious to know, what it does or how it acts when it gets to where you would normally expect it to come on the pipe.
Don't forget that it is supposed to have a spacer on top of the main

If all else fails, I will sell you one CHEAP

But really the only time I had the band not hitting right, was as tuning issue and leaner jetting helped. Other than checking the float, just listen to the guys they should get you lined out.

But really I will sell you a power-band good product says it's guarenteed $59.90 plus shipping :p

You will want to do a proper plug chop. Post up some pics of the plug/plugs and we can help you on which way to go as far as jetting.

If this problem slowley pregressed over time it could be your clutch is worn or needs adjustment. It will run fine and then when the powerband does hit the clutch will slip and you will never feel the power hit.

The main jet is a 220 and the needle has five slots it's on the second from the top. When it's in neutral it'll rev up fine but when I put it in gear and start driving it doesn't rev up.

last time...........

you have to tune your carb with the links in my post above.
http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/not-hitting-powerband.63103/#post-784040

you must tune it from the bottom up, in this order......
1. float height (20 - 21.5mm)
2. airscrew/pilot tuning (stock 32.5 pilot)
3. needle clip in the middle position (not 2 down from the top, 3rd/middle slot)
4. plug chops to determine main jetting (230 is stock)

I'll get that done and get back to you if it worked or not. It might take a couple days though I have to work only with one hand I broke my other one.

Ouch that's what you get when you try to shoot the double and case it instead. Lol better take it easy till it heals over, I usually never felt broken bones much, it was always either overdoing it and rebreaking it, and or the itchies that come afteer you think u got it licked that are the hardest to deal with.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks. Ok my blaster revs pretty high in neutral so I didn't move the needle till the third from the top cuz wouldn't that just make it rev even higher? It's hitting power band now I just adjusted the air screw. I'll do a plug chop test as soon as my arm is better.
