hey i bought a blaster off my friend from work last week, the quad has been sitting for two years without being ran, removed the carb and gas tank cleaned them both out and re-installed, will not start?? i removed the spark plug to check spark i am getting spark but not sure if it is enough, i am getting good compression, checked for clogged air filter no blocking, if i pull the quad behind a truck or something and dump the clutch it will run for not even a min and then shut off, i have no idea what the problem could be can someone please help me out it will be greatly appreciated

hows the reeds, cracked, chipped, missing a pedal ??
is the exhaust clogged, mice nests are a common in there after sitting for long times??
did you try a new plug, is it wet when pulled after trying to start, did you pull the petcock while cleaning the tank to check for clogged screens, is fuel getting to the carb, are the floats stuck, pull the fuel line off carb to see how/if it's flowing into the carb, crack the screw that drains the bowl, to see if its filling up
if your getting spark and fuel, id look for a broken flywheel key, could just be firing at the wrong time

I'm pritty sure that I cleand and re asembled the carb properly I check the reeds they look like they are in good condition after trying to start the plug is not wet, the pe weiner is flowing good no blokege how would I check for a cracked flywheel??? I'm new to the blasters..everyones help is greatly apreciated

Check your metering jet in the carb (the thing the float pushes up on with the tiny spring in it) any dirt/varnish up in the hole will starve it for fuel, & check where it seats. Make sure the rubber O ring is good also, and like awk said, check your pipe, believe it or not, mouse nests are a pretty common problem with Blasters that have sat for a couple of years. :o
