I have a 88 blaster I just bought 2 weeks ago.was running great till 3 days ago when I rebuilt carb i put everything back together and fired right up for about 4 seconds then died.now I dont have spark.I have changed stater have checked cdi box and was told that coils hardly ever go out.so I'm lost, can someone please help.this is my first blaster, and as of right now it's looking like my last.

Do you still have TORS "brain" box still hooked up? Have you ohmed the stator? Switches? Are ALL the grounds clean and tight? Including where coil mounts to frame? Try trimming 1/4" off coil wire and re-installing boot. Do you have a different boot to try?

Throttle Over Ride Safety. Combination of throttle/carb switches and ignition retard box. Whole system can malfunction in various ways including no spark. Check wire diagram, believe three wire plug, small box left front under hood. Unplug box to dis-able it.

is it a silver box on front of bike on left side.with a blue wire?im going to go out and check.also if I unplug it will it start and run ok? or do I have to go get another tors unit

no, the silver box is the voltage regulator, you need the one small box on the other side, the one with 3 wires, i believe its the lower one, the other one with 5 wires is the cdi

the TORS removal link i provided above has pics of everything

ya I found it,unplugged it and now I have spark and it fired right up...thanks guy's now the next ? can i start it up and ride it until I can get another? or is it going to damage or hurt the bike?

That's why the tors is ELIMINATED, never to be replaced. Keep carb clean and throttle and cable lubed and never worry about stuck throttle. In the future you can get a Tors kit and eliminate the "brick" on top of carb making it easier to maintain or change jets. For now also lube inside of the "brick" Glad we could help. BTW, welcome to BF, ride safe !!
