hi all,was riding bike had chain link snapped so i fixed that, took carby off and back on and went to start it,it started but it wouldnt run well kept back firing and rought idle, then we puuled it out again & cleaned it and now we got no spark at all,put the plug on side of engine & no spark, the head light comes on but it wont put out spark,we had some spark for a bit but now we dont, anyone help please,:(

i have no clue what to say other than check your wiring connections.

curious though, did your engine over rev like a biotch when your chain snapped?

i had a look and would that (tors)would it be two wires i got a wire thats been cut i followed it up and it goes to the clutch side of the handle bars and the engine stop switch, its a yellow with black strip and the other is a black wire,i think my (tors) has been removed because theres no wire near the carby, the only thing i took of was the brake light,we had it started twice but u give it some gas and it didnt sound right, kept bogging down and back firing,

i'v cleaned the carby,i'v got no spark at all,it was working and suddenly its not now,all i did was take the carby of i didnt touch any electric wires, unless the owner had taken it off,the handbrake was taken of already & there is no wires coming out of my carby except my fuel, oil and throttle cable,i do have 2 wires that i'v found that are y & b and a b 1,anyone know what there for, bike be up for sale soon if i keep getting trouble with it

reason #1 i will NEVER buy a bike that has been modified in any way by the previous owner. you never know what was actually done to it and if it will cause issues in the future.

first thing to do is try a brand new spark plug. you may have fouled it out.

then look all aroound your carb and make sure there are no air leaks between the carb and the motor.

if it is all sealed up tight, THEN start looking into the tors cap on top of the carb.

ok i'll have a look and take some pics, its been going great till now i'v had it for 3 years with no trouble.where abouts does the TORS wires go into the carby i cant find them.hopefully i can find the problem soon i was thinking of getting rid of it for a road bike.

i had a search today and its the (TORS) thats im having trouble with my bike starting,i found the wires for the tors as the last owner removed them, all i need to know is where i hook the wires up so i can get it going,to i earth it out to the ground wire or what do i hook it up to.

The tors runs from the top of the carb to the throttle box, there is a little button so to speak that the wires hook up to. Did the original owner remove that little button that is housed in the throttle box? You don't have to take it apart to check just listen for a little clicking noise when you just put a little pressure on the thumb throttle. If you hear a click, the button is there and you can intall the tors wires, if you don't hear a click, you could always just splice the wires coming out of the tors together, if they are there.

its a twist throttle, yea the previous owner has removed it,i'v found a wire with a connection to it and the wires cut,1 is black and 1 is yellow & black.so all i do is join them together and it should start.or do i earth it to something else.i got no clue with this stupid tors

If the wires aren't connected, then it definately wont start. Just splice the black and yellow/black wires together, it will complete the circuit and fool the tors into think that button is there and being activated (or deactivated in this case) you don't have to mess with grounding it or anything.
