hello i am a newb to quads and two strokes I've always wanted to own one and when i got offered one as a trade for my truck I just couldn't turn it down...

the blaster is a 89 i think?

what i know is done to it.....

its a 230cc (he said it had a nankang piston I have done research and can't find such a thing so idk?)
pro circuit exhaust 304 silencer

i really don't know much else lol he told me so much and alot of it i still don't understand completely... i think he said v force reeds, it also has a k&n sticker so im guessing a k&n filter idk? im also pretty sure it has a aftermarket carb but i don't remember what it is, he couldn't remember what size jet it has.

I've only really got to ride it once so far and i was verrrry impressed shes got alot more snap then i had expected:o.

my only real complaint is it's too quite! i can just swap a different muffler on right? also i'd like to paint some stuff and swap the handle bars eventually

so im sure I will have lots of stupid ?'s once i start learning more lol 2 strokes are weird everything is very simplistic compared to cars and that confuses me lol :-/

welcome, looks pretty clean for the year,
search button above, read and learn, then ask away
i also think thats newer than an 89??? i could be wrong but i dont think the 88/89's came with heelgaurds
do a vin # search, someone on here knows the website for that, or search for "vin decoder

also i wanted to ask my back brake is shot and the front brakes dont really do much at least they didn't in the snow... it really didn't bother me I was just down shifting and engine braking all day is that ok on the bike? i would assume its ok because 2 strokes love being revved high but i just wanted to make sure

brake pads are way cheaper than motor parts, it's ok to downshift, but it's causing increased wear and tear
