New Winter Tires

Well I finished just in time to ride this weekend. I picked up some new Cheng Shin tires and studded them up. Had to use some old ones and some new ones. Between the front and back I am at around 1500 studs. Here are the backs. Had to mount them myself first.

studs run 20-25 per bag of 250 depending on size.. ithink a bag of a 1000 is 60 bucks

Well the tires were $65 each and the studs are $67 for box of 1000 and the rims,( believe it or not) I got from a guy when I bought a blaster off him. Had some rims from a DVX that fit my KFX, So around $200 for just the back.. The straps were to hold the bead when its like 10degrees out trying to pump them up. Brought them into the basement to stud them up. Going riding Sunday on the Bay up here, cant wait.

Well that is one opinion, I guess the fact that they have been around for like ever has to say something, plus I went to 4 dealers and no one sells kold cutters. I have ran them for 20 years now and never went,,,humf, wish they bit harder,,.

You could in a pinch, but these have the middle kind of drilled out and they are gold anodized to make them last and not rust as fast. Plus they just are not as sharp, but better than nothing. I used 1/2" and they dont go through so tires are still good. Funny taking brand new tires and running screws into them.

very true, idk i guess its all preferance?? i had the gold screws in my wifes trail boss and theyt seemed to dull faster than the kold cutters

i ran 5 16th hex head sheet metal screws in my 01 blaster.. worked ok but no where near as good as studs

you can hear it spinning

200x ( white) has sheet metal screws.. 250r had a mix of gold screws and kold cutters

Thats fine fed, I just know wether you use gold screws or kold kutters, when you have as many as I do, you dont spin too much. Come on up sunday at 1130 we head out.

Well,,,you did push him down the steps...Just kidding. Lots of radar runs going on up here. Jan 29 right by my house for the sleds, Feb 5 at Geano Beach Bar on the bay, Feb 19 truck/atv drags at Chute pond by mountain.

we had radar runs about 20 min from here last weekend.. radar runs tommrow on little green 20 min away also... were supposto have ice drags like last year.. pro tree just like the drag strip but they cant get spectator insurance
