IHi,
I just got my first blaster, actually my first 2 stroke. I have ridden all 4 stroke quads and and 3 wheelers in the past. I have to say this 2 stroke blaster is a blast. and the best part is I picked it up for 450.00 bucks. mechanicly except for the commom brake problem that I hear about it seems petty decent. Starts very easy, idles good and runs great. just needs a little cosmetic work. but not bad. I do have to premix the fuel so I know it has a oil block off installed ,just not sure if it was a factory block off or a DIY, is there any way to tell. Also not quite sure of the year, can I tell by the VIN #.

welcome to the forum man, sounds like evryones getting good deals on blasty lately, nice find....oh yea, take off ur oil pump cover and see if there is a blockoff plate in there, if the pump is in there, u have to take off ur clutch cover and remove the plastic gear on the inside and take out the pump, very simple to do

Welcome to the site and congrats on getting your first Blaster. You might be able to find the info you need at Yamaha VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com . Just type in your Vin # and it will tell you the year and other info as long as you have a 17 digit vin #. Enjoy your stay!

welcome to the forum bro. yes there is a thread in here about reading the Vin but i cant remember where. i used it to figure mine out.
