Just bought a new Ricky Stator with the adjustable plate and put it in today. The blaster never ran before because of a junk coil so I decided to buy a whole new stator. Well anyway, a buddy put the stator on fgor me and the first time, put it on backwards (as in the pulser coil was on top instead of bottom). We didn't notice this at first and put the flywheel on....well it fired up about 5th kick(first time i've heard it run) It was firing at the wrong time so we took it off again and fixed it(put it on the right way) well since then, it willl not start at all...no spark....had a buddy's dad look at it who is a mechanic and he went through all the wiring....can't figure it out Anyone have any ideas?

it wouldn't fire if it was on wrong way so i think you had it right first time. you just need to adjust the plate if it fires incorrectly either somewhere between 1-5 mm left or right from where you first had it to get it timed right. there should be a line on your engine and a line on the plate so you know where to begin adjusting.

ok.....if anyone reads this that has put a rivky stator on their blaster, how did you do it? is the little black coil (pulser coil) on the top or the bottom? the insutrctions that came with my stator don't do any good. and do the coils point outward so you can see them when you take the flywheel off or do they point in toward the crank?

well i used a multi-meter to check over everything.....and i believe the new stator is junk. the charge coil is getting nothing. The only thing that makes no sense is that it ran with the stator on backwards and the only thing changed since it was on backwards is I plugged in the kill switch...and now it won't run. Could a ground maybe be messing it all up?

have you got it fixed yet?i have a cdi if you need one pm me.i bought one and didnt even need it.

Could the cdi be doing this? I just bought a new ignition coil and that didn't do anything.....it had spark before I put the new stator in...it was just very bad spark...and now that the new stator is in, there is none. I just thing it would be a very big coincidence for the cdi to go out at the same time

I also e-mailed the place I bought my stator from and they gave me all the resistance measurements to check so I'm gonna do that tommrow
