Hey guys let me start by sayin I'm new to the world of not only owning a blaster but this is my 1st quad. I'm 23 and kind of the opposite of most ppl in that I started off riding streetbikes first (on private property) at a very young age, I've been on streetbikes since about 12. So I've actually gotten around to buyin a quad for the 1st time at age 23. Anyway the reason I bought the blaster is b/c in nj last winter we had a ton of snow and I just wanted something cheap to rip around on. The blaster I jus bought is an 01 an seems to be pretty peppy atleast for what it is (obviously no where even remotely close to my cbr929 lol) anyway my question is so far in the last 2 weeks that I've had her, I did some minor mods already. I took the fenders off and put a goldseries fmf fatty header. I wanna get a fmf silencer and a set of wheel spacers for it too. But my question is, I dislike that square light in the front, has anyone done dual lights? I'm thinking about goin to advance auto and buyin a set of cheap foglights. Has anyone done this (pics please) and is the magneto in the blaster strong enough to power 2 lights?

there are sevral people pn here with dual fog lights up front .... the advance auto, walmart, autozone, oreilly's ..etc.. fog lights should be fine .. just dont go crazy
heres a post about adding lights..i believe dual 20watts is what u want...

another route u can consider is updating your front nose/hood to the 03-06 stlye ...pretty much bolt on, i think you'll need a bracket for the head light.. but its pretty ez to do

if you re thinking for one second that your blaster is going to run around in that snow we had last year, forget it. not happening. 6" -1' is about the max. after that the snow starts to pack up under the front and your not going anywhere. quads are fun as hell in the snow, just not too deep. in that big storm we had, i couldnt even get mine outa the back garage. my bulldog was burried all day, was like bugg s bunny in that old cartoon goin to pismo beach.

for snow, paddle tires for the win.

also use LED bulbs, they use usually around 5W a bulb some even 1W and they give off light equal to around a 20W halogen.

look at my sig below, that is 2 LED bulbs, warm white color that are 4W each.

Yea well I meant riding aroun in a few inches of snow lol that snow we had lastyear was outta control, I could barley get around in my wrangler. I just got an 05 chevy z71 4x4 so if the quad can't get around I get to play around in my truck lol

And yea I'm gonna look at fogs after I get my next paycheck.. At 23 I'm tryina split my paychecks between my bike,my quad, my truck and my number one toy- my corvette. Havin toys gets expensive, but the quad seems to be fairly cheap to upkeep an parts r everywhere

Orileys has a $20 pair of fog lights, i baught them for my blaster and ditched the square light. Mounted them under both the fenders where the stock bolt holes are, hooked them up to the stock light switch. work awesome and wayyyy brighter than the square light and look BA!!!
