Bought an 2002 used. It has an aftermarket pipe and fmf silencer. The previous owner put reeds and an aftermarket carb on it. It runs ok but the guy said it needs to be tuned. All I know about the carb is its a mikuni. I don’t know witch way the choke lever goes to choke it. It runs the same either position. Where can I get a tuning guide for this carb. Ill post a link to the pic of the carb so you guys can help. Also I have black oil coming out of the exhaust manifold right by the engine, is this because its to rich? The guy told me to run 32:1 but a friend today gave me some of his 16:1 and that’s when it started leaking the black stuff. Mainly just need info on the carb and witch way the choke works. Thank you Her is the link to the carb pic

hard to say on the carb.. looks to be of a newer dirt bike?? post the numbers from the side of it and one of us can figure out what it is
as far as tuning the carb, look in the engine section at carb jetting, and tuning, i posted a great read on pj,pw pwk jetting and tuning guide, long but well worth the read and a must read for anyone new to 2 strokes!!
as for the black stuff.. that oil.. normal if its ran at low rpms alot or run to 'fat' fat meaning heavy on oil, run 32:1 and never think twice, also run a good oil.. no lawn boy or cheap sh*t.. klots r50, klots supertechniplate, pro honda hp2, ( i personnaly run the hp2 and love it) or any decent 2 stroke oil.
rule of thumb if in doubt open the bottle and smell it.. the best smelling oil is gonna be your best bet, sounds corny but ask anyone its true!!
as for the choke... play with it when the machine is cold.. which ever way it starts the easyest cold is 'choke on' or when its idling flip it up or down and let it idle for a mid if the exhaust smoke gets heavyer or thicker thats choke on
