Ok , The spare 04 motor I got came yesterday. Its a complete motor with all new Yamaha parts even the crank is new .I was pressure testing the motor and found an intake leak, motor had good compression 160 lbs. It did not come with an exhaust flange so I looked into the port and this is what I saw. A cold seized piston that was used and had new rings installed 66.050 . The piston scratched the bore on the intake and the exhaust sides. I have an Ammco cutting / hone and removed almost all of the scarring but now I need to get the next size 66.075 so I ordered a Forged Wiseco piston kit. So what did the ATV dealer in California say when I called him...he denied everything !

They are in California , Inland ATV Sales . I sent a lot of pictures to him of the piston, he said it looked like grease on the piston and told me to clean it with carb cleaner. At that point I just hung up .bring him the piston, and then throw it at him
Yes the rest of the motor is perfect and complete ,still a good deal for what I paid.
I had planned to replace the piston with a forged one anyway. If there had been anything else wrong I would raise hell .
