Hey guys just finished registering on the site. I'm not really new to quads but definitly new to 2-strokes. I joined because I'm actually in the process of selling some stuff to come up with some $$ for a blaster. I've been doing a ton of reading online about these quads and, in doing so, I had a few questions I wanted to ask before starting my search to find one.

1. I've decided that I want something 03 or newer because I like the look a little better. Is it my understanding that you do not have to premix oil and gas with the 03's up, because of the seperate tanks(if that makes sense) and it mixes on it's own?
2. I've been getting mixed reviews about the 2 stroke motors. I do a lot of trail riding and at some points, I have no choice but to ride slow, in a lower RPM. From what I've read, 2 strokes are made for the higher RPM's, and it will actually do more damage to the engine if you drive it in low RPM's. Is this true? This is coming from Youtube comments, so that may explain that if its a dumb question.
3. I also do a decent amount of nightriding. Would it be possible to throw in a HID kit to replace the stock headlight? I just thought it would look pretty cool and give it more of a euro sportier look, ya know?

I think thats it for now, but trust me, I'll be back with more questions. lol Look forward to being a part of the community! If anyone's in the NEPA area give a shout! Sorry for the long post.

welcome, not only the 03+ have the oil injection. from 87to 06 have them. but i would try and fine a 03 + only because they have the front and rear hydros, the older drum brakes suck if not properly maintenanced. and when you do get 1 i would do the oil in injection block off and just run premix.. i trail ride with mine all the time in the lower rpms it does fine for me some times she gets a little hot, you just gotta open her up once in a wile. and i would carry some extra plugs just incase ya foul 1 out..

Welcome to the forum, look around there is a lot of info if you look. The Blaster is a great trail quad, yes there is more work in keeping gears and RPMs right but the power of the 2 stroke is worth it.

Welcome to the forum. This forum is one of the best and the people here are really informative. In my opinion, my blaster is one of the most reliable and easy to ride trails with and is definitely the best wuad ive ever owned. About the HID lights. I have some 35 watt lights on my quad. I tried looking for hid's but couldnt find any 35 watters, so i just used regular lights. They work pretty damn good though. I still think the stock lights work the best, but on the pre 03 models, In my opinion dosent look so good so i ditched it.

welcome. blasters are great trail quads. they have great bottom end torque for a 2stroke my blaster puts away if i get off of it. there very reliable mine hasnt failed me yet... knock on wood!

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't sure if that was a dumb question or not, but good to know someone else was interested in doing the same thing. That's too bad you couldnt find anything though. I think that would be awesome to throw some HID's in there. Those things would light up the whole trail!

Welcome to the forum. I'm from nepa also. Where are you from? I live in Dallas.

I'm down off the Tobyhanna exit off I-380, a little bit past the Tobyhanna Army Depot, if your familiar with that area. My g/f goes the University of Scranton so I'm up that way a lot. Maybe 30 min. from there.

Well I'm actually a little further down 209. Our office is inside Saw Creek and I work for PA American Water. We're all over the area though, and you may know some of the guys I work with who live in Marshall's Creek.

Yup I know where that is. Well maybe we can meet up some time and go riding once I get my blaster. lol I gotta finish selling some stuff to get enough money, but I cant wait. Have you ever heard of Lost Trails up by Mt. Pocono?
